Job Description

Adjunct faculty positions supplement the faculty of the Graduate department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold appointments as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.

Required Qualifications

All faculty must have doctoral degree in the field/discipline of nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education
Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such must be submitted instead of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary coursework will be required upon selection for hire.

Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation as offered upon appointment. Orientation date and time will be announced.

Employment Conditions: Must have a criminal background check, must have be able to drive or travel between locations. Unencumbered Virginia Licensure eligibility is required. Current CPR certification is required. If certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), continued certification is expected.
