Title: Athletics Communications Coordinator

Job Description

The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the Athletics Communications Office in promoting the Athletic Department's 16 varsity sports, while serving as the direct contact for several sports including women's basketball, which will be assigned based on experience and knowledge. Duties include but are not limited to: assist with the management of the athletic department's website (RadfordAthletics.com), writing game recaps, cultivating positive relationships with media members, writing, editing and assisting in the design of media guides, assisting with day-to-day operations and other duties as assigned. Evening, weekend and holiday hours are required.

Required Qualifications

Experience in a sports information or media relations office. Working knowledge of computers and desktop publishing programs on Macintosh and/or PC platforms. Strong interpersonal, communication, and editing skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evening, weekend and holiday hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with InDesign and Photoshop. Experience with sport specific software programs, such as StatCrew, and content management programs.
