Job Summary The Department of Film and Media Studies at Colorado College invites applications from creative practitioners with an expertise in fiction filmmaking for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. Applicants must be fully conversant with the creative processes and practices of digital filmmaking, with holistic experience in the field. Ability to teach hands-on, applied courses covering introductory and advanced production and post-production technology and concepts is a must. The ideal candidate would be able to teach courses in a secondary area, which could include storytelling through sound; animation; editing/post production; other advanced digital and analog techniques, including 16 mm filmmaking; or interactivity/new media.

Minimum Qualifications An MFA in filmmaking, or a PhD that requires significant film practice, is strongly encouraged, though in cases of extraordinary merit, experience may be able to substitute for the terminal degree. |
