We are accepting expressions of interest for Academic Teachers interested in joining the UTS College team in the Diploma of Communication in Semester 3 (commencing late September 2026). Subjects taught include:

- Understanding Digital Audiences
- Strategic Communication in Society
- Communication and Society
- Digital Media Industries
About the Role
This position is responsible for:
- Teaching
- Preparing, delivering, and facilitating tutorials and workshops as outlined in the curriculum for the subject each week in subject area of expertise, as agreed with the Program Manager
- Grading assignments, tests, examinations, and other assessment items as required
- Providing detailed, timely, and meaningful feedback to students
- Performing all other teaching-related duties such as preparation for scheduled hours of teaching, administration of student records and informal consultations with students
- General Duties
- Providing early learning support and referrals as needed to UTS College Student Success Advisors
- In consultation with the Academic Coordinator and Program Manager, participating in a range of professional development activities
- Attending staff and subject meetings as required
- Completing special assignments under the direction of the Program Manager as required
- Team Liaison & Collaboration
- Establishing ongoing channels of communication with Academic Coordinators, Student Success Advisors, the Program Manager and academic colleagues to ensure consistent quality of teaching
- Participating in moderation activities

About You
To succeed in this role you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in (doctoral qualifications preferred)
- 5 years+ experience in industry practice or post graduate qualifications in Communication or a related field
- Relevant demonstrated experience of teaching in a higher education environment
- Demonstrated commitment to innovative learning and teaching practices, including a willingness to engage with contemporary approaches to content delivery including blended learning approaches
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple demands to meet deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy
- A NSW Working With Children’s Check
