About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team at The Coppel & Piekarski Family Disability Respite Centre in Caulfield. This is an exciting career opportunity that involves fostering empowerment and providing person-centred active support for adults and children living with a disability.

Within your new role: 

• Establish and maintain a supportive environment for people using a person-centred active support model
• Facilitate and support clients in all aspects of daily living
• Promote opportunities for skill development and community access
• Contribute to the plans and outcomes for clients, programs and activities
• Maintain effective interpersonal communications with clients, colleagues, and family members
• Regularly update client reports and relevant records
• Children's holiday groups

What you will bring:

• Certificate IV in Disability (essential)
• Full unrestricted Victorian Driver's Licence (essential)
• Experience supporting persons with disability
• Proven understanding of person-centred approach and positive behavior supports
• Availability to work various shifts across a 24/7 roster, including sleepovers
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure, work independently and part of a team
• The ability to contribute to the delivery of an outstanding customer experience
• The ability to self-manage and monitor your work schedule
• Commitment to the delivery of timely and punctual work performance
