Aged Care operates in an ever-increasing competitive landscape with operational cost pressures, changing consumer needs, and increased focus on service quality, compliance and reporting. In response, we are investing in a variety of strategic projects to continuously improve how we operate and seek to appoint a Senior Business Analyst to support the Information Technology team to help deliver the IT strategic plan.
The Role
The Senior Business Analyst will work on significant, complex projects involving multiple integrated platforms servicing our HRIS, Payroll and Rostering services amongst others. The successful applicant will show energetic and engaging stakeholder management to collaborate across different functions – People and Culture, Finance and Payroll and the operational business units.
The challenge will be how you consult with and engage different internal stakeholders while maintaining a focus on the objectives and benefits of improving operational performance, using your analytical skills to develop evidence-based solutions.
The role is part of a small team of Business Analysts and Projects within Information Technology, based at our Support Office building in Hawthorn East.
Some of the ways you’ll make a difference:
- Work with the business units to review operational and strategic objectives
- Conduct workshops, interviews and other engagement activities
- Model & optimise business processes, perform gap analysis to identify opportunities and define how enabling technology can maximise delivery outcomes
- Develop future state operating models, maximizing the use and value of information automation and process rationalisation and re-engineering of business processes and systems
- Communicate risks and benefits of the future state design
- Review and engage with stakeholders to agree on future state models
- Create functional specifications for solutions
- Engage with our inhouse development teams to implement change requests
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience using tools and skills such as entity relationship/data modelling, UML/RUP where relevant, analytical techniques to determine benefits mapping and realisation
- The ability to listen and embed yourself in, and develop a deep understanding of the business, challenges and opportunities in this growing sector
- Curiosity, asking “why” to determine evidence-based solutions
- Demonstrable skills translating and quantifying benefits (cost savings, activity automation, performance improvements)
- Business assessment, gap analysis, process engineering, reengineering, process and service overhaul experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills
- An ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in requirements and solutions design and applicable tools process mapping, data modelling, data flow modelling, ER modelling)
- Previous experience in complex projects that involve taking stakeholders on a journey to improve operational outcome
- Previous experience with HRIS, rostering or complex ERP systems
