Our Team
Benetas delivers the Veteran’s Home Care (VHC) program on behalf of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA), providing phone-based services to 8,200 clients across 9 regions of Victoria and 4 Queensland regions.
The purpose of the Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program is to provide services to eligible veterans and war widows.
These services are designed to help maintain the health, wellbeing and independence of eligible veterans and war widows, and enable them to continue living in their homes.
Services delivered by the program include domestic assistance, in-home respite, home and garden maintenance and personal care.
Benetas is one of 4 appointed VHC Assessment agencies nationally.
The Role
The Veteran’s Home Care Manager provides leadership, supervision and support to our team of 4 Veteran Home Care Co-ordinators and 14 Assessors to ensure responsible, professional, sensitive and empathetic assessment services are provided to eligible members of the Veteran community on behalf of the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).
The role ensures appropriate relationship management and delivery of KPI obligations to the DVA, in line with contractual requirements.
This is a full-time role based at our Blackburn office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building a strong relationship with DVA and developing a detailed understanding of contract requirements in order to lead the VHC team to successfully deliver against KPIs.
- Delivering to the VHC Assessment Agencies Contract Performance framework
- Identification of opportunities to increase the number of clients across VIC/QLD accessing the program
- Responsible for relationship management with Service providers
- Building and leading a supportive culture for team members
- Play a key role in supporting the introduction of new technology platforms in coming months.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a health or social services related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing client assessment services (or equivalent) which deliver to set targets and KPIs
- Proven experience in assessing client needs and overseeing the creation of client care plans
- Empathetic leader, with experience in recruiting, mentoring and developing staff through encouragement and empowerment
