About the Role:
Deliver high quality heavy vehicle driver training and assessments, ensuring all Centurion drivers operate safely, compliantly, and to company standards. Support operational teams by improving driver capability, reducing risk, and enhancing overall transport performance across all branches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete Verification of Competencies (VOC) on powered mobile plant for recruitment candidates, all employees and subcontractors on a 3 yearly refresher and post incident.
- Coordinate and deliver operational training to new and existing employees ensuring it is completed in a timely manner whilst maintaining quality.
- Support new starters through on-boarding ride-alongs, conducting route-specific training including mine site, metro, regional and remote operations.
- Coordinate and facilitate site inductions for employees and subcontractors.
- Travel to various branch locations to deliver operational training.
- Develop, deliver and facilitate learning pathways for local driver development, providing hands on training and coaching through consultation with supervisors/managers and employee.
- Deliver practical behind-the-wheel training for HR, HC and MC truck classes, providing feedback to drivers on fuel-efficient driving, vehicle handling and best-practise techniques.
- Assist the operational business by supporting workplace assessments and audits in relation to truck driving.
- Provide direction and support to supervisors/managers to allow continuous improvement in relation to operational requirements.
- Assist with policy and process development in relation to driver training and operational tasks as requested.
- Participate in incident investigations as a subject matter expert (i.e. Load restraint, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), Mass Management, Fatigue.)
Skills and Experience:
- In depth knowledge of CoR, Fatigue Management, Load Restraint and Mass Management
- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent skill set
- MC Licence
- LF High Risk Licence
- Fatigue Management Online Certificate
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience operating multi combination vehicles
