About this Position

The Director of Tax and Compliance Services provides high-level oversight and strategic direction across a range of financial and compliance functions for the University. This leadership role ensures the institution remains compliant with evolving tax regulations while also managing investment, endowment, and cost accounting operations.

Leading a team of six full-time staff, the Director works closely with University leadership, campus departments, and outside advisors to support sound financial practices, reduce risk, and provide helpful guidance across these important areas.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's

  Accounting; Business; Finance

  (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• Seven years financial administration experience in progressively challenging positions in financial, accounting and/or a higher education environment.

• Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

• Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  Good interpersonal relationship skills are required as well as the technical ability to effectively serve as a resource person. Must be honest, have integrity and high ethical standards. Demonstrated skills in effective management, supervision, and team building. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's

  Accounting

• Experience in a higher education multi-campus environment, and experience in negotiating institutional financial and other interests with federal, state and local officials.
