About this Position

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology position will practice in the multispecialty cardiovascular and thoracic service line clinic.  This position is actively involved in patient care and teaching medical students and residents in the ambulatory clinics, as well as the hospital surgery/inpatient service.  Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research and service will also be necessary as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.  The position will work with existing with OSU-CHS administration to develop an operational practice. This position may be split between OSU-CHS and the US Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA).

Required Qualifications

  • M.D./D.O.  Doctor of Osteopathy or Medical Doctorate
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  •  Cardiology Fellowship

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • DO or MD degree, eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma, Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiology Board Eligible

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

The position requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-tasking skills, and advanced problem-solving skills. Computer skills are needed to operate electronic medical records. Good communication and leadership skills are a positive.  Interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with faculty, students, clients and providers. Devoted interest in education.
