Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
This position is based full-time in Taos, New Mexico.
Appointment Length

Hiring Range
$52,200 - $80,000

About this Position
The Doel Reed Center for the Arts—Oklahoma State University’s creative outpost in the mountains of northern New Mexico—is seeking an energetic, highly organized professional to keep this vibrant hub running smoothly. Nestled just outside Taos, the Center welcomes OSU students, faculty, alumni, and lifelong learners for credit courses, leisure learning programs, lectures, and community events.
As the Center’s Manager, you’ll be the on-site staff member (staff of one) responsible for day-to-day operations and the welcoming atmosphere that makes the Doel Reed Center extraordinary. Working in close partnership with a faculty Director based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, you’ll manage everything from course logistics and event planning to property oversight, budgets, and community outreach—ensuring that every class, lecture, and gathering shines.
Key Responsibilities
Programming & Event Coordination (25%)
- Coordinate logistics for academic and leisure learning courses
 - Manage event planning for visiting speakers, fellows, and guests
 - Arrange travel and accommodations for Center visitors
 - Support outreach activities including tours, lectures, and community events
 
Fiscal Management (25%)
- Oversee budgets, contracts, payments, and financial reporting
 - Manage course registration platforms and merchandise sales
 - Collaborate with OSU Museum of Art fiscal staff on payroll and compliance
 
Community & External Relations (20%)
- Represent the Center in Taos, Santa Fe, and surrounding communities
 - Build partnerships and promote the Center through civic engagement
 - Attend meetings and share updates on Center activities
 
Administrative Support (20%)
- Assist with communications, marketing, and scheduling
 - Provide support to the Director and Advisory Committee
 - Maintain smooth day-to-day operations
 
Property Management (10%)
- Oversee maintenance and service needs for the Center’s facilities
 - Coordinate construction projects and maintain inventory records
 - Ensure compliance with OSU property and insurance guidelines
 
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree
 - 4 years of experience in customer service, event planning, program coordination, or a related area (post-secondary education may substitute for years of experience)
 - Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders and the public
 - Strong public speaking, written and oral communication, financial, and organizational skills
 - Ability to take direction and work on projects without continuous oversight
 - Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programming
 - Ability to travel to Oklahoma several times per year
 - Valid driver’s license
 - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and set up event spaces indoors and outdoors

Required Qualifications
