Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Hiring Range

$19.00 - $21.38, hourly

About this Position

Provides operational and acquisitions support to the Library and the Library Director including various fiscal and administrative duties such as purchasing specialized library e-resources and physical materials, general bookkeeping, data entry, customer support, administrative office support, and other tasks associated with library operations.  

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's
    • Associate's degree or equivalent experience(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Must have two to four years of progressively responsible office, account, customer service, problem solving, and administrative experience or equivalent in a comparable environment
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Must have ability to work independently, use discretion, and sound judgement.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to proofread the work of self and others with a high degree of accuracy in spelling and grammar.
    • Must be able to perform basic accounting and mathematical computations with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Must be able to follow purchasing policies and procedures while navigating purchasing processes to ensure compliance with the OSU system.
    • Capacity to develop complex excel spreadsheets. 
    • A combination of training and experience that provides the requisite skills and abilities may be considered.
    • 50 wpm typing
    • Knowledge of general business office procedures. 
    • Excellent customer service skills. 
    • Knowledge of purchasing.
    • Ability to multi-task is essential.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
    • Two years progressively responsible administrative, purchasing, accounting, customer service, problem solving, and data entry/computer software experience or equivalent in a comparable environment. 
    • Previous experience in a non-profit, library or educational institution is preferred. 
    • Experience with administrative functions such as email correspondence, filing, taking minutes, and event management.
    • Experience working with purchasing workflows and vendors.
