About this Position
The Athletics Department is seeking a skilled Plumber to support the maintenance and operation of athletic facilities. This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing and utility systems in accordance with all applicable local, state, and BOCA codes. The successful candidate will ensure reliable and safe plumbing services that support student-athletes, staff, and campus events.
Key responsibilities include installing new plumbing systems using appropriate materials and methods; diagnosing and repairing existing plumbing infrastructure; sizing utility lines and selecting proper materials; and performing ongoing utilities maintenance. This role also provides technical support and guidance to other trades, shops, and the Engineering Department regarding best practices, materials, and procedures related to plumbing systems.
1. Installation of new plumbing systems using the proper materials, methods, and procedures. Installations shall meet any local, state, and BOCA codes. 2. Repairs to existing plumbing systems. 3. Utilities installation, repairs, and maintenance. Must be able to size lines, select proper materials, install materials to meet codes, and make repairs. 4. Miscellaneous support to all shops and engineering Department as to proper materials, methods, and practices in the installation of plumbing systems.

Have before hire, and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Plumber III - Plumber's Journeyman license required.
Plumber IV - Plumber's Contractor license required
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Working knowledge of plumbing codes and how to install systems to meet these codes. Knowledge of various materials that can be used and meet all codes.
Ability to follow Instructions precisely and completely, have good communication skills, ability to work with

Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent's salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.
