Hiring Range

$42,000 - $45,000

Commensurate with education and experience

About this Position

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research with goats or hair sheep at the LU-SLSAAS. The research involves investigating the interrelationships between host animals and internal parasites, manipulating host immunity to reduce parasitism, and exploring alternative medicines to control internal parasites in small ruminants. The successful candidate is expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the research laboratories.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD in Animal Science, Veterinary, Biology, or a closely related discipline is required. 

(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Demonstrated capabilities in conducting internal parasitology experiments, cellular and molecular laboratory analyses, data handling, statistical analyses, data interpretation, and preparing and presenting scientific reports are required. 

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Considerable skills in oral and written communication, as well as the capacity to work cooperatively with others for successful teamwork, are required.
