About this Position

Be an integral part of a team that serves individuals who are interested in the Spears School of Business, by coordinating administrative functions for the Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center (CEBSSC) team as well as the Eastin Center for Career Readiness (Eastin Center) team. This individual will ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and professional office environment while working closely with internal and external stakeholders—including students (both prospective and current), employers, alumni, university partners, and others. The role includes managing front desk operations; coordinating communications; event planning; and scheduling support, purchasing, and travel arrangements. 

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • One year of clerical/customer service experience. Post-Secondary education may be substituted for experience.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
    • Must be service oriented and able to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
    • Must be professional, friendly, and welcoming to all visitors.
    • Must be able to use a computer and have familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
    • Will be required to utilize Banner and other university computer programs to assist with student enrollment and advisement process.
    • Must be able to handle a variety of tasks in a busy work environment with many interruptions, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projected deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Communications, or a related field.

  • Three to five years administrative assistance in higher education
