About this Position
The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine invites candidates to apply for the Medical Records Technician position in OADDL’s General Office department. This is a customer service and clerical based role. Duties for this position include serving as the main point of contact for OADDL’s phone line, answering client calls, managing the phone system, and distributing communications lab wide, including proper documentation in LIMS and Quality Management software. Must have the ability to follow documented processes and lab policies. Must be able to provide accurate information about submitting samples, testing fees, reporting verbal results, and some billing related information to OADDL clients.
Clerical duties include fulfilling client supply orders, including packing and shipment of orders. Route all internal communications including daily mail delivery. Scanning of medical records, as well as maintaining OADDL paper records and subsequent electronic archival into LIMS. Mail reports to clients as needed. Maintain office supply inventory levels for the lab and office supplies specific to the General Office. Other duties include greeting OADDL visitors at the main entrance, assist the Medical Records Supervisor in the training of new employees. Assist with training and directing the workload of student employee(s). Serve as a backup for medical records entry into Vet View LIMS system. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background investigation.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Initiative and motivation are required. Ability to manage workload under stress, frequent interruptions, and deadlines. Ability to multi-task effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent telephone skills and etiquette. Requires excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal). Requires proficient use of email.
