The Federal Highway Administration and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation fund the Oklahoma Local Technical Assistance Program. LTAP Programs provide training and technical assistance to government entities that plan, maintain and construct transportation systems at the local level.
The Coordinator plans, develops, and delivers training programs and educational resources for transportation professionals. The Coordinator ensures training content and delivery methods are appropriate for adult learners by incorporating principles of adult education and workforce development. The Coordinator works with subject matter experts and instructors in adapting instructional materials and training formats to meet the needs of diverse audiences, including public works staff, supervisors, engineers, and local government officials.
Primary responsibilities include development of training curriculum and educational materials; scheduling, coordinating and delivering in-person and virtual training programs; preparing technical resources and informational materials for local transportation agencies and training classes; and collection of program data, training evaluations, and reporting requirements.
