Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Athletic events will take place on weekends and holidays.

About this Position
Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.
Evaluation of athletic injuries.
Treatment & Rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Counseling and education of student athletes.
Athletic Training Administrative duties to be determined.
Assist with the coordination of medical coverage for workouts, practices & home and away competitions, including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers.
Supervision, education and recruitment of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers.
Required Qualifications
- Other Professional Degree; Master of Physical Therapy
- Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- 3-5 years of Physical Therapy Experience
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
- Certified by the American Physical Therapy Association required Additional certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification preferred Prior to hire: Licensed Physical Therapist
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse department, University and community constituencies
- Working Knowledge of NCAA Rules and guidelines.
- Ability to direct and perform confidential detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure
- Knowledge and understanding of guidelines in the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 100 lbs
- Extensive amount of time standing per day and a willingness to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions and ability to direct personnel in case of severe weather
- Ability to manage and direct multiple personnel and tasks at one time
- Experience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially for injured student athletes
- Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database function
- Travel is required in performance of this position: Travel will be required for off campus athletic events that are covered by the Athletic Training Department. This individual will also travel to meetings and conventions to maintain CEU credit for NATA AND APTA.
- Work schedule will vary according to practice and event schedules. These can change depending on availability of facilities and weather changes. Athletic events will take place after business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Health/Physical Education, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy
- 3-5 years of Physical Therapy Experience, preferably with Division I Athletics
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
- Additional: Preferred Certification by NASM as PES/or CES., PT
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Experience with aquatic rehabilitation
- Experience with Manual Therapy Techniques
