Hiring Range

$42,000 - $52,200 Salary

This Coordinator of Student Transition Programs is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive support initiatives for transfer, non-traditional, and former foster youth students across key transition points. The role leads extended transition and engagement programming that builds on orientation, fosters belonging and connection, and supports academic and social adjustment. Core responsibilities include coordinating signature programs and events, delivering targeted communications, and developing learning outcomes grounded in research and assessment. As the primary advocate for former foster youth students, the position provides individualized guidance, proactive outreach, coordinated care, and oversight of targeted support funding in collaboration with campus and community partners. The role emphasizes trauma-informed practice and direct one-on-one student support and coordinates care for students with complex or intersecting needs through strong cross-campus partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as higher education, psychology, human development, counseling, leadership, social work, or sociology. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Two years of related work experience. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of experience. 

    • Knowledgeable about and/or skills in college student development and educational best practices and principles. 

    • High degree of personal/professional integrity, respect for privacy and confidentiality, and a demonstrated sense of ethics.  

    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and coordinate numerous detailed tasks as well as proven success with working on a team. 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.    

    • Proven ability to work with populations of different backgrounds and life experiences.  

    • Demonstrated asset-based thinking skills when working with others. 

    • Demonstrated ability to reframe complex situations to put forward plans of action with deliverables. 

    • The proven ability to collaborate successfully with multiple departments. 

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as higher education, psychology, human development, counseling, leadership, social work, or sociology 

  • Two or more years of full-time consistent professional experience in student affairs, student development, or work supporting students in a higher education setting.
