About this Position
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program Chair is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Physical Therapist Assistant program and curriculum. The Program Chair will lead all efforts to obtain and retain all required professional, state, and regional accreditation. Develop and maintain contact with business/industry for the purpose of obtaining program recommendations and student placement.
Required Qualifications:
Current Physical Therapy licensure/certification/registration to practice in Oklahoma.
Minimum of a Masters degree
Degree must be granted by an institution accredited by a regional/national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Minimum of five (5) years, full-time, post-licensure experience that includes a minimum of three (3) years full-time clinical experience
Teaching experience (clinical and/or didactic)
Experience in administration/management
Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation, and outcomes assessment, including the equivalent of nine (9) credits of coursework in educational foundations
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Current Physical Therapy licensure/certification/registration to practice in Oklahoma.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
Adept and current in basic skills related to the program area/career major, and able to effectively counsel and educate students. In addition, possess the following skills:
Supervisory and organizational
Excellent interpersonal
Consultation and communication
Facilitation and coordination
Understanding of and experience with physical therapy assistants
