About this Position
The Assistant Director for MarCom Operations leads the systems, processes and people that move the Department of Brand Management's work from concept to completion. This role is the operational backbone of the department — owning project management infrastructure, building the systems, timelines and budget models that support college- and division-level MarCom strategy, overseeing the planning and execution of large-scale events produced on behalf of Brand Management, and ensuring creative and communications work is delivered on time, on budget and on brand. Serving as the connective tissue across creative, digital, media and partner teams, the Assistant Director keeps every stakeholder informed and accountable to their role from kickoff through delivery.
Will utilize skills in project management, event planning and production, workflow and systems design, budget modeling, and cross-functional coordination to keep the department's work organized, on schedule, and aligned with institutional, divisional and college priorities. This role also manages service-level agreements with deans and other university leaders, defining the scope, deliverables and expectations for the central team's partnership with colleges and divisions. These efforts align with OSU's strategic marketing and communications plan which prioritizes recruitment, retention and reputation management.
Must have an understanding of integrated marketing and communications operations, project management systems and methodologies, budget and resource planning, and the logistics of producing high-visibility events. The individual should demonstrate self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking in finding new opportunities to showcase Oklahoma State University.
