About this Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a System Operation Analyst with 3+ years of experience with hands-on infrastructure and application support with database analysis experience a preferred qualification.

This role requires strong project management skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and effective communication. The System Operation Analyst implements, manages, maintains, and troubleshoots VetMed core IT systems, while monitoring VetMed core resources and VetMed core security.

This position is expected to respond to critical failures 24/7. This role will collaborate with VetMed academic and functional units to integrate technology solutions and support, manage user accounts, access, permissions, and security policies using Active Directory and related security tools within the VetMed environment.

This position reports to The College of Veterinary Medicine’s Director of Information Technology and serves as a highly hands-on technical expert responsible for developing, building, and maintaining the organization’s internal technology systems. This role focuses on the direct design, implementation, and support of enterprise data systems, business applications, and analytics solutions.

Seeking an individual with advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with database environments (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server). Experience working with vendors on system implementation, interface troubleshooting, defect resolution, or workflow optimization.

Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, 42 CFR 73, 7 CFR 331, and 9 CFR 121. Consequently, the individual hired for this position must successfully complete a Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Investigation (DOJ/FBI) security risk assessment as well as the background check.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's

  Bachelor's MIS, Computer Science or other related field

  (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

• 3+ years related work experience. Additional post-secondary education beyond requirements may substitute for years of required experience.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Proven troubleshooting/critical thinking skills

Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft 365 technologies

3+ years of Windows, SQL Server/PostgreSQL Database Administration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau Desktop). Working experience with Linux and Ubuntu.
