Veterinary Clinical Skills Program Manager in Stillwater
The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine is requesting applications for the position of Veterinary Clinical Program Manager. This position is reserved for an experienced registered veterinary technician with substantial evidence for expertise in veterinary education as well as large and small animal clinical skills. This position will work alongside the Director of the Clinical Skills Program to plan, organize, and develop the clinical skills curriculum in the DVM program. This position includes clinical skills laboratory session management, a substantial role in teaching and assessment of DVM students. In addition, the Program Manager will ensure instructional coverage of clinical skills labs, maintain adequate inventory, maintain well-functioning instructional tools, and coordinate the day-to-day activities associated with the clinical skills portion of the program. This position may also include assistance for faculty in educational research projects, development of low-fidelity clinical skills models, and creative approaches to developing skills in DVM students with and without live animals.

About this Position Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of Students for Student Engagement, the Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement provides advising, guidance and acts as a resource for the students and student organizations of Langston University. The Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement helps contribute to the holistic development of students by coordinating programs, scheduling events, advising student organizations and clubs, advising the student activities board, and through marketing. This role will act as a liaison between students, staff, faculty, vendors and community members to facilitate the success of student programming. The Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement will conceptualize and execute programs that will enhance the student experience, promote student learning, foster the holistic development of students, and aid in retention efforts. The Coordinator of Student Leadership and Engagement must be familiar with all university policies and regulations regarding student information. The candidate must be proficient in reporting and dissemination of student and college information. Additional duties include serving on university committees and assisting with initiatives to support the mission of Langston University. Candidate must be active in regional and professional organizations and must demonstrate experience in oversight, planning, and management of student programs related to student activities, student organization advisement, and retention. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a resource to all registered student organizations and advisors; including but not limited to creating ongoing training opportunities, workshops, and resource materials. Assist the Assistant Dean of Students with assessing student organization events and liability concerns. Provide continued training and development for registered student organizations (RSO’s) to increase awareness of OSL and University policies while enhancing leadership development efforts within the campus community. Serve as primary advisor for the Student Activities Board (SAB) and oversee the planning process and execution for student-led programs during Homecoming Week, Welcome Back Week and Spring Week, this list does not encompass all SAB programming. Advise the Elite Connection (Royal Court) and oversee the production and execution of Langston University’s Royalty Scholarship Pageant Programs. Supervise and create professional development opportunities for OSL student staff i.e. auditorium and administrative teams. With the Assistant Dean of Students manage student engagement platform, coordinate event registration process; meet with students planning events to provide assistance with event details, budgeting, advertising, risk management, set-up requests, relevant campus guidelines, etc. Serve as I.W. Young Auditorium building manager and oversee the use of the space by RSO’s, campus departments and community members via the event proposal process and event implementation advising. Support annual programming initiatives during featured programming months (i.e. New Student Orientation, Homecoming, MLK Celebration, Black History Month, Women's History, Student Leadership Awards, etc.), and student-centered conferences. Work collaboratively with supervisor to coordinate the student the Student Leadership Institute and Student Leadership Awards. Assist with health and wellness initiatives in conjunction with recreation and wellness programs. Assist with the Office of Student Life marketing and social media development and execution. Complete and submit all required reports directly to supervisor on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. All other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students. Must be available nights and weekends as needed.
