Performs food service, sanitation and kitchen maintenance. Serves food with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Greet and take customer orders, remember special requests, and deliver food in a timely manner. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, designated floors or dining tables-safely, efficiently, and timely. Assists with special events across the University and across campuses that may include breakfast, luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events. Will often transport food items from production environment to other campus/community locations. Make space ready for catering function, to include setting up serving lines with all necessary display items and utensils. Aid cooks in preparing meals and plating food as requested by the chef or other supervising employee. Serve and pack warm foods to clients in an effective manner and in strict accordance to the orders of such clients. Clean pots, pans, and any other dishes in the kitchen as needed, adhering to safety and sanitation standards at all times. Assist with cleaning the restaurant and dining area by picking up trash, clearing and washing plates and dishes, and wiping down tables as needed. Performs golf course maintenance and other landscape duties on the golf course property. The golf course maintenance worker uses and operates golf course maintenance and/or landscaping tools and equipment as needed, to maintain golf course property and landscapes. Functions of the golf course maintenance worker are as follows: Mowing and maintaining of greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas and any other areas as directed by his/her supervisor. Raking, trimming and maintaining of bunkers as directed by his/her supervisor. Hand-watering of turf areas as directed by his/her supervisor. Hand trimming/edging cart paths, curbs, trees, etc. as directed by his/her supervisor. Application of some pesticides and fertilizers under the direction and supervision of his/her supervisor. Operates and uses golf course maintenance equipment and tools correctly and safely as directed by his/her supervisor. Ensures that the assigned equipment being used is working at all times; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately. Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or assistant superintendent and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility. Informs his/her supervisor of any issues. problems or failures on or around the golf course property immediately. Performs other duties essential to the operation as directed by his/her supervisor.

This position serves as a first line assistant supervisor responsible for preparation, production and/or serving of food items. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: May determine work priorities and assigns work to food service workers and students.
