Work that matters
The accounting profession is being transformed by AI and digital technologies, with ensuing challenges and opportunities for accounting research and education. Through their scholarship of research and teaching, the successful applicant will help shape that transformation. This role provides opportunity to contribute to curriculum design and innovation in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate accounting programmes.
The team
The appointee will report to one of the five Academic Leads in the School of Accounting and Finance, within the College of Business and Law.

Experience
To join our community and thrive in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Essential:
Level B/C
- A PhD in Accounting or closely related area.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate accounting courses with incorporation of data analytics.
- Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
- Demonstrated capacity to conduct research and/or scholarship in accounting and publish in high quality journals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to perform administrative and engagement functions primarily connected with the accounting and finance.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner, and to build rapport with all levels of academic and professional staff within a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Additional criteria required to be considered for Level C
- Demonstrated success in curriculum design and course management.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and research funding.
Desirable:
- Ability to incorporate data analytics in accounting curriculum.
- Experience in teaching accounting information systems, auditing, management accounting or business analytics.
- Experience in the preparation of proposal submissions to external funding bodies.
- Ability to engage with relevant industry or professional bodies.
