Join the Client Services team at the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital in a casual capacity, providing support on an ad hoc basis as operational needs arise. This role is ideal for someone seeking flexible work, with shifts offered as required to cover periods of increased demand, staff leave and other operational requirements. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings and weekends, depending on business needs.

As a Casual Client Services Officer, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional customer service to clients of the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you'll provide reception and administrative support while helping to create a positive experience for clients, students and veterinary staff.
This is a casual opportunity with shifts offered as operational needs arise, providing flexibility while contributing to a dynamic clinical and teaching environment.
About Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital
Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital (RVH) is the School's clinical teaching facility and comprises small and large animal hospitals and a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. As a leading primary care, referral and 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital, RVH delivers high-quality veterinary services across a broad range of animal species using state-of-the-art facilities and technology.
The hospital also provides an exceptional clinical learning environment, where final-year veterinary medicine and veterinary technology students gain practical experience under the guidance of experienced veterinarians, nurses and professional staff.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver professional and compassionate customer service to clients in person, over the phone and via email.
- Manage appointment bookings, patient admissions and discharges, and general reception enquiries.
- Liaise with referring veterinary practices and support communication between clients and clinical staff.
- Assist with emergency presentations and patient handling as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records using veterinary practice management software.
- Process payments, invoices and insurance claims.
- Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, organised and professional reception environment.
- Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the hospital.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service or reception role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience using veterinary practice management software (such as Cornerstone) is desirable.
- Previous experience in a veterinary practice or animal health environment is desirable.
