Role Summary  

An exciting opportunity exists for a Teaching and Research Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) in Physiotherapy to join the School of Allied Health & Human Performance within the College of Health at Adelaide University. This is an outstanding opportunity to provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and engagement while contributing to the education of future physiotherapists and advancing the discipline through high-quality research and collaboration.

Work that matters 

The successful candidate will bring their skill, creativity and experience in developing and delivering education materials for the Physiotherapy Program and will play a pivotal role in teaching and research/scholarship at Adelaide University. This position will contribute to the leadership and operational delivery of the Physiotherapy program and broader activities within the School of Allied Health & Human Performance.

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: 

To be successful at a Senior Lecturer Level C teaching and research position applicants will need:

• A relevant undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy together with relevant industry/discipline experience, in contemporary Physiotherapy practice, with current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• A PhD in a related field of research to Physiotherapy and an emerging national reputation of discipline related industry and/or research leadership in the practice or science of rehabilitation including neurological rehabilitation.
• Demonstrated experience and a commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies and modes of delivery.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop research projects that attract graduate research students and external funding to build upon the established research and scholarship strengths of the school.
• Demonstrated successful leadership of teams and projects that fosters a supportive culture of excellence and inclusivity.
• High level administrative and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continual professional and personal development.

To be successful at an Associate Professor level D, in addition to the level C criteria you will also have:

• A PhD in a related field of research to Occupational Therapy and a national reputation of discipline related industry and/or research leadership in the practice or Science of rehabilitation (including neurological rehabilitation).
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and leading academic staff to establish successful and rewarding careers.
