Work that matters 

As an Administrative Officer, you will provide a broad range of administrative support to the Future Industries Institute, with a key focus on supporting the UCL Engineering MSc in Global Management of Natural Resources program delivered in partnership with University College London. You will help coordinate the student journey from applications and admissions through to onboarding,  student events and activities, and program completion, while maintaining accurate records, tracking key dates and actions, and ensuring processes progress efficiently.

The team 

Reporting to the Team Lead, Future Industries Institute, you will join a collaborative team of six supporting the Institute’s research, academics, students and international program activity. The team delivers a broad range of administrative services across research, student support, events, communications and day-to-day operations, with responsibilities shared and rotated to provide variety and exposure across the Institute.

Experience 

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

  • Post-secondary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support within a busy, team-based service environment.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, actions and processes accurately.
  • Demonstrated initiative and confidence in independently sourcing information, resolving routine matters and identifying appropriate next steps.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and provide high-quality service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and information systems, particularly spreadsheets, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.


Desirable

  • Experience working within a university, higher education or research environment.
  • Experience supporting international student programs, research activities, placements, partnerships or similar initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating complex administrative processes involving multiple stakeholders, competing deadlines and high volumes of correspondence, documentation and data tracking.
