Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Environmental Health and Safety and Emergency Management, the Director of Campus Safety and Fire Prevention is responsible for leading the workplace safety, fire prevention, and construction safety management programs. The Director develops vision, policy, and operational frameworks that promote a safe, compliant, and healthy campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Director is responsible for interpreting and applying State Building and Fire Codes, OSHA regulations, and related federal, state, and local safety requirements, and for leading institution-wide initiatives that reduce risk, prevent injury, and ensure regulatory compliance. The Director collaborates closely with campus partners, senior leadership, external agencies, and contracted vendors to ensure campus safety standards are clearly communicated, consistently applied, and continuously improved.

The Director heads comprehensive environmental health and hazardous material operations across campus, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The Director oversees the University’s hazardous waste management system, environmental permitting, and spill prevention. The Director serves as the primary EHS liaison with Facilities and Campus Services, Design and Construction Management, and external regulatory agencies such as the EPA and DEP.

The Academic Advisor will collaborate with administrators & staff to provide outreach, advising programs and services, to create an inclusive environment and enhance student success. They will participate in the development and execution of advising programs such as 1st year and sophomore group advising sessions, evening hours and New Student Orientation. Additionally, they will participate in college-wide efforts to provide outreach and support to external transfer and on-campus transfer students. The Academic Advisor will use a holistic approach to meet the individual needs of diverse students in an effort to increase student persistence and retention.
