As the Portfolio Management Specialist, you’ll guide the performance and strategic direction of Vero’s SME portfolio—a key part of our Commercial Insurance offering. You’ll work within a collaborative team focused on sustainable growth, broker enablement, and platform innovation. This role offers the opportunity to shape portfolio outcomes through data-driven insights and strategic execution, with clear pathways for career progression.
What you’ll do
- Analyse portfolio performance using internal and external data sources (Tableau dashboards, COGNOS and industry reports) to uncover actionable insights.
- Develop and drive clear proposals for portfolio improvements, including tactical and strategic pricing changes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Pricing, Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, Finance, Actuarial) to align initiatives with business strategy.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as distribution to enhance platform performance and broker connectivity.
- Deliver and monitor initiatives that drive profitability, ensuring benefits are realised and sustained.
- Create compelling data stories to communicate complex analytics to non-technical audiences.
- Maintain awareness of claim trends and risk profiles to inform portfolio decisions.
- Contribute to performance meetings with insights and updates on portfolio initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in General Insurance, preferably with an actuarial and/or analytics background.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Analytics, or Actuarial Science (desirable).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to derive actionable insights from data
- Proficiency in Tableau, COGNOS, and other business intelligence tools
- Excellent communication and data storytelling capabilities
- Commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
- Curiosity and a mindset for continuous improvement and innovation
- Familiarity with emerging AI technologies in insurance
