Overview of the role

As Senior Business Analyst in our Digital Customer Tribe, you will be supporting the delivery of the digital program of work across Suncorp’s Insurance brands. The role offers plenty of variety working across multiple digital assets, applications, platforms and brands.

You will have the opportunity to join our large Analysis Chapter that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. The Chapter consists of ~250 like-minded analysts, where ideas and best practice are shared via community events, masterclasses and knowledge sharing activities. You will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile).

What you’ll do:

  • Work with several stakeholders across the business including the Enterprise Delivery Analysis, Enterprise Delivery Practice, Delivery/ Project managers, Business/Product owners, subject matter experts and project stakeholders including but not limited to principal engineers, architects, developers, testers, scrum masters etc
  • Use appropriate systems, tools and processes to proactively discover requirements; facilitate workshops, synthesise information accurately, completely and coherently to produce designs that realise Tribe/Squad and/or Project outcomes
  • Adopt Suncorp’s WoW to elaborate on requirements, create acceptance criteria, compile story cards/user stories and estimate effort
  • Apply sound comprehension of Suncorp business context including strategy, key systems/process, and critical issues/constraints
  • Solve business and technical problems using a methodical and consultative approach
  • Support testing, change management, training and business roll-out of solutions
  • Document current and future-state processes (as-is/to-be)
  • Manage risks, issues and change requests using established tools and frameworks

What you’ll bring:

  • Essential: Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Senior Business Analyst working in the Digital domain in a project/delivery role 
  • Essential:  High level understanding of all aspects of digital asset changes and the digital asset life cycle
  • Essential:  Experience implementing change across a variety of digital processes including Sales, Service, Renewals, Payments, Claims, Mobile, Web and AI
  • Experience with customer journey and expertise to work with UX designers, and developers to come up with optimal technical solution to a business problem
  • Experience with eliciting and defining business requirements, and translate into technical requirements for developers
  • Experience in Agile ways of working and supporting tools including but not limited to JIRA, confluence and using these tools for documenting, planning and tracking requirements.
  • Experience in building and influencing successful business relationships
  • Experience in creating user stories, defining as-is to-be processes and managing risks/issues/change requests
  • Insurance industry experience advantageous; Guidewire and Claims experience (desired)
  • A thirst for continual development and learning and willingness to share experience with others
  • Enthusiasm to be an active contributor to the Analysis Chapter and building and embedding a strong culture that enables everyone to become a master of the craft of business analysis
