About the opportunity

Help drive the successful implementation of Cloud capabilities in the Crime Prevention and Detection Platforms service with a strong focus on the design, build, deployment and support of the data streaming stack (AWS EMR, PySpark, Kafka, RDS) and other cloud solutions across multiple providers.

Delivering foundational, operational platforms and patterns, with high levels of automation and standardisation.

Be responsible for helping build a mature development lifecycle, with high levels of automation for repeatable processes that will enable the service to be agile, deliver faster and more frequently.  You need to be able to multitask, demonstrate flexibility, and deal with many situations

In this role you’ll get to…

  • Provide effective and appropriate Incident, Problem, Configuration, change and Release Management according to technology and Group standards.
  • Assist with input into architectural roadmap for future vision for Service.
  • Influence decisions about sequencing, design and investment.
  • Enhance our culture of focusing on value and upskilling the technical knowledge and productivity of others.
  • Understand the utilisation of your service offerings from both a cost and value standpoint, design assets that can be leveraged.
  • Educate teams on the value of using Cloud, Devops & Automation first practices.

What you’ll bring to the role

You will have a positive mindset, be adaptable to change and be able to inspire confidence while motivating the team to achieve great outcomes.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • The ability to work with stakeholders to identify and implement the most optimal deployment and configuration solutions for the company.
  • Planning, designing, implementation and support of on-perm and cloud-based platforms and tools.
  • Managed on-prem and cloud environments in accordance with enterprise security architectures.
  • Experience deploying and debugging solutions and service offerings in accordance with best practices throughout all stages of their lifecycle.
  • Educated teams on the value of using Devops practices.
  • AWS, GCP and DevOps certifications are highly desirable.
