Group Financial Crime Risk is responsible for delivering an overarching framework to manage the risk of financial crime, which includes advice and oversight across the Group, coupled with detection and intelligence led / data driven decision making within the function.
Lead the Group's Internal Investigations team in this role with high impact. As Manager Internal Investigations you’ll:
- Lead the oversight of Internal Fraud event management and the provision of expert advisory and facilitative services across the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group.
- Manage a small team of specialists to conduct forensic investigations of suspicious matters relating to insider crime in the organisation.
- Develop and execute strategies, plans and operational practices as they pertain to Internal Fraud risk mitigation, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ensure high quality output and communication is delivered during and post investigation to senior stakeholders, including exec and board level

This is a permanent full-time position. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model of minimum three days per week based out of our Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo, or Sydney corporate office. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required travel across Australia on a case by case basis.
What you’ll bring to the role
To succeed in this role, it’s essential to bring:
- Demonstrated experience in internal investigations, operational financial crime and fraud teams at a leading domestic or international financial institution, Australian Regulatory bodies or law enforcement.
- Best practice technical expertise in financial crime risk and fraud, including risk appetite.
- Effective use of productivity measurement tools.
- Highly effective communication and influence with stakeholders in delivering change to teams and business processes.
- A risk, compliance, quality assurance and control management background with specialised knowledge of internal fraud typologies and mitigation strategies.
- A toolkit which includes excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management, strategic planning, and a high EQ.
- Leader with ability to motivate and develop a team, able to manage their workloads and priorities.
Whilst not essential these will be advantageous:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Financial Crime Industry Qualification in Fraud Control and / or Investigations, ACFE, ACAMS, AFCS etc.
