We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

The Business and Agribusiness division now brings together our specialist lending capability under the Chief Customer Officer - Business and Agri. Our goal is to enhance the prosperity and sustainability of the communities in which we operate.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

As the Regional Manager - Business Banking you will lead a team of Relationship Directors & Managers based across SA & WA, operating in an SME space to provide a consistent and exceptional experience for our Business Banking customers. With accountability for building a localised strategy for your region, your key deliverables are around lending and deposit growth, new customer acquisition, NPS and risk metrics.

You will be a senior leader within our Business and Agri Banking division and you will partner with your peers, the Consumer Regional Managers, Business Banking Specialists, and the Credit Risk Team to support the right outcomes that contribute to the division’s wider performance and the organisation’s strategic outcomes. Your focus in this role is on enhancing the Business Banking brand, attracting new customers, and supporting local communities, offering to customers ranging from $250k to $50m in business lending.

As a Regional Manager, you will make your mark by:

  • Lead, coach and energise the SA & WA Business Banking team
  • Champion the one-way-same-way philosophy whilst focusing on improving customer experience
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships in the region
  • Identify and lead business development activities that optimise our profile and growth prospects
  • Embed a strong transformation culture and support the business banking strategy
  • Manage a regional profit and loss, balance sheet and monitor risks
  • Workshop complex credit submissions with bankers and credit as required
  • Provide the team with meaningful business and industry insights

This is not your average Regional Manager role. You will have seat, and more importantly a voice, at the senior leadership table where we will encourage you to challenge the status quo and stretch into strategic development opportunities.

What you’ll bring to the role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading a large business banking team with deep knowledge of lending and credit risk principles
  • Up-to-date knowledge and insights of market conditions, commercial banking products, cash flows and markets
  • Passionate about developing others through robust approach to coaching, including sales and performance management
  • Deep understanding of the tools and principles that enhance operational excellence and drive a culture focused on continuous improvement
  • The ability to collaborate and think outside the square to develop innovative, customer-centric solutions across all divisions of the bank
  • Demonstrated exposure in successfully leading a team/business through multifaceted transformation and change will be highly regarded

We would also love you to have:

  • A tertiary qualification in business, finance, economics or a related discipline
  • Connection to the local communities that we serve and operate in

So, why work with us?

  • Want big impact that matters? Here, you’ll know your work directly benefits the customers and communities we all serve.
  • Want to be more than just a number? Join a team that truly values you – and that gets more and more diverse, every day.
  • Want career opportunity AND flexibility? Achieve both here, where we know that balance and progression go hand in hand.

You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:

  • Hybrid work? Our flexible work options are designed to suit your life – talk to us about what flexibility means to you.
  • Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, and private health insurance options.
  • Take your learning to the next level through opportunities like our corporate university ‘BEN U’ or at an external provider of your choice.

We’re making better, bigger. And we’ll get there with you.
