About the opportunity 

You will lead a function that drives an enterprise culture and practice of engineering excellence. Accountable for providing resilient internal platforms, as well as network and developer tooling.

The role will be pivotal in leading and influencing the Bank’s digital transformation, embedding modern platform engineering standards and enterprise-wide tooling that enables reliability of core infrastructure and networks.

In this role you’ll get to…

• Collaborate with the Technology Leadership team to influence and devise appropriate technology strategy.
• Improve the network through network reliability upgrades.
• Establish and lead an engaged, high performing function that is committed to the Bank’s sustainable success.
• Lead this first line function to continually mature methods that ensure protection of the IT organisational assets, integrity, security and privacy of information.
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on best practice approaches to the Bank’s digital transformation agenda that enables valuable business and customer outcomes. 

What you’ll bring to the role

You will have a robust technical background in DevOps, CI/CD Tooling, cloud engineering and network engineering. 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

• Significant exposure and leadership of SRE and platform reliability.
• Senior leadership background, with proven track record of leading and developing large cross functional and agile teams of technology engineering resources
• Extensive experience in leading transformational change and being a thought leader in the technology space.
• Demonstrated development of strategy and leading teams in the tactical execution against strategic frameworks.
• Experience in effectively managing budgets.
• Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders, including members of the Executive and Board.
