Within the People and Culture division our Payroll Governance team play a critical role to proactively ensure that our employees are being paid correctly across all industrial agreements and awards.  

 

We currently have a 12-month secondment opportunity for a Payroll Governance Delivery Lead to join the team. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Payroll Governance, you’ll contribute to the Bank’s strategic objective to demonstrate compliance across pay-related systems and processes with Commonwealth, State and Territory workplace laws, including legislation and industrial instruments.  

 

You’ll be able to combine your payroll governance background with project management experience to build and execute a project plan for payroll governance related activities.  

 

Your exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy will be key as you navigate our interesting and complex industrial landscape (mix of EA, award, and salaried employees). Delivering to tight deadlines will be second nature, as well as your capabilities providing direction to others in a project team.

This role can be based in any of our office locations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Bendigo, or Adelaide. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office. 

  

What you’ll bring to the role 

 

  • A Tertiary qualification in Law, Human Resources Management, Employee Relations or similar related discipline 

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role in Payroll Governance and Compliance 

  • Experience across activities relative to Employment and Industrial relations law including all relevant State and Commonwealth employment related legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements 

  • The ability to draft and interpret policies, explanatory materials, and guidance documents 

  • A strong understanding of the interaction between Human Resources systems, policies, and practice in a corporate and customer service operating environment 

  • Understanding of and experience in developing and implementing governance, frameworks and processes to support and enable industrial compliance 

  • Proven project management capabilities 

  • Intermediate to advanced abilities with the MS Office suite
