About the Role
- The realisation of business benefits via the safe and effective delivery of all allocated projects within the Service Enablement One Water Program within agreed parameters of time, quality and cost
- Achieving value for money outcomes by challenging project scope, delivery methodologies and driving best practice in capital delivery systems and processes and identifying synergies across the delivery program
- Business Case documentation and Project Development from project initiation to Ready for Tender, including Functional Requirements, preparing artefacts ready for tender, permits (planning, heritage, cultural) and delivery model (D&C, or D then C)
- Accountable for Project budget, schedule, forecast and risks, and driving Generative safety culture on projects.
- Management of project risks and escalation to steering committee and sponsor as required
- Support the business in treatment plant related risk assessments, research, queries or audits
About you:
- Relevant Engineering Tertiary Degree (Process / Chemical engineering)
- Proficiency in process engineering acquired through experience in planning and design of wastewater treatment processes and a sound understanding of the science underpinning wastewater treatment, including chemical, physical and biological processes.
- Competency-based project management certification with a relevant local or international professional organization such as AIPM, IPMA, GAPPS or equivalent is desirable
- Project and change management experience
- Professional Leadership mind-set and behaviour
- Maturity and judgement necessary to contribute to complex decision making.
- High level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.
Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck. This role is deemed critical, and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
