About The Opportunity

Programmed Electrical Technologies department currently has multiple opportunities for Communication Technicians to join our team in Darwin in a full-time role. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team that provides data installation on a wide range of customer sites and installations.

Nature of position: Full-Time

Location: Winnilie, Darwin

Salary: 80 - 90K + Super

Key Responsibilities

    • examine drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed
    • locate faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters and transmission measuring equipment
    • attach wires and cables to appliances
    • adjust, replace and repair faulty items, and testing equipment using electronic instruments
    • install cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV and computer transmission
    • join cables and seal sheaths with lead and thermoplastic
    • erect, test and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables, and radio and mobile phone antennae
    • install telecommunications equipment and appliances such as telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment

About You

To join our team, you will have an open registration cabling license with a passion to provide quality work and a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, you will have

  • Certificate lll in telecommunications is desirable
  • Experience in defence or commercial and industrial works
  • Defence clearance is advantageous
  • Current driver's license
  • Demonstrate a professional approach to the workplace
  • Execute work that is of a high standard
  • A strong commitment to and understanding of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management systems.
