Programmed Facility Management are seeking an experienced Manager Soft Services to join our Karratha Team and lead a ‘Soft Services’ Facilities Management contract. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of an essential team that provides facility management and soft services, such as Catering and Cleaning, to a well-known Oil & Gas Company situated in the Pilbara, WA.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Manager Soft Services is accountable for contributing to Programmed's profitability and growth by directing high-quality Soft Services outcomes to our Client. The role will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding on-site catering and cleaning services, ensuring compliance and adherence to SLAs, fostering team member growth and training, all while upholding rigorous standards of health, safety, and hygiene.

Based in Karratha, WA, this permanent full-time role offers long term career potential and the opportunity to have a meaningful impact at work by supporting important services for the community. The incumbent is a key person in the Programmed Team and is involved in promoting positive staff morale and a safe work environment, ensuring adherence to quality systems and standards at all times.

About You

To join our team, you will be an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager, with a positive “can do” attitude, a strength for building Client relationships and providing first-class customer service, and budget management, whilst managing a diverse workforce across multiple Sites. Knowledge and experience of Soft Services is beneficial,

 

Additionally, a commitment to the safety of yourself and others and ability to deliver quality service without compromise. Knowledge of Hygiene and Food Safety Standards (HACCP) is desirable, however not essential.

 

Duties include:

  • Lead and manage Catering and Cleaning service delivery across multiple Sites, ensuring optimal coverage and efficient use of resources
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld; builds and maintains positive relationships with all Stakeholders
  • Understand and deliver Contract / Scope terms, resolve issues in a timely manner, and cultivate long-term Client relationships
  • Proactively manages budgets, billing and stock control, optimizing performance and reporting financial data. Controls the management of labour and material costs to ensure financial goals are met
  • Manages commercial opportunities, implement cost-saving measures and work quality in the achievement of profit targets
  • Ensure adherence to food hygiene, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Enforce company policies, including HSEQ procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct Toolbox Talks and provide ongoing training, ensuring Teams are properly inducted and equipped to perform their Roles
  • Ensure adherence to OHS, environmental, and food safety legislation, maintaining records and implementing safety measures.
  • Understand and implement emergency response plans, lead by example in safety practices, and promote risk awareness among the team.
  • Actively promotes positive staff morale and safe work environment, addressing performance management issues and staff grievances effectively
  • Collaborates with wider PFM Maintenance teams to deliver quality service outcomes

 

You will possess:

  • 5+ years’ experience in operations / facilities management, soft service related industries (Cleaning & Catering)
  • A proven track record in operational and / or service management environment
  • High level of customer service skills and ensuring customer satisfaction is delivered to the client
  • A pro-active approach to resolving issues and excellent attention to detail
  • An excellent communicator with good written and verbal skills
  • Experienced in the management of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Advanced computer literacy with MS Office and window-based applications
  • Organisational and time management skills, that can adapt to tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • High literation, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

 

In addition to the above, you will need:

  • VALID C Class License
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Ability to pass comprehensive (Client) Pre-Employment Medical including Instant Drug and Alcohol Screening
  • Current satisfactory National Police Check (within 6 months)
  • Industry Safety Induction (ISI) Training and MISC (desirable)
  • Previous experience of similar environments (desirable)
  • Experience / qualifications with Food Safety, Forklift, First Aid, Building Management & HSE Systems (desirable)
