About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager to lead the strategy for a key facilities management contract on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island. Our team oversees the maintenance and operation of assets, including utilities infrastructure and buildings, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

In this pivotal role, you will enhance asset data accuracy, tracking, and performance, supporting facilities management in maintaining critical assets to design and operational standards while aligning with the asset management plan.

This permanent, full-time position plays a vital role in delivering sustainable asset lifecycle outcomes for one of Western Australia’s most treasured heritage icons, renowned for its rich history, breathtaking coastal landscapes and unique wildlife found nowhere else.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage asset maintenance plans, ensuring optimal performance and risk mitigation.
  • Balance budgets and resources while addressing asset condition and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor asset systems to maintain capability and ensure statutory planning aligns with future demand.
  • Oversee capital investment programs and minor works for regional assets.
  • Coordinate stakeholder input for new assets, ensuring operational, maintenance, and safety needs are met.
  • Implement asset management initiatives and ensure staff training and licensing requirements are fulfilled.
  • Negotiate procurement contracts and maintain vendor relationships through regular reviews.
  • Conduct audits, plan maintenance schedules, and drive safety, risk management, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and ethical standards.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in asset management within facilities maintenance or related operational environment. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to deliver exceptional asset outcomes.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in asset management, engineering, or a related field, OR extensive relevant experience in asset management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle costing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with asset management systems and digital tools, including data analytics platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
