We are currently seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team at Programmed FM. This integral role will support our contract teams to deliver exceptional services to our client safely. In this role, you will work alongside our operational delivery and construction project teams, providing expert safety advice, coaching, mentoring, and guidance with both a strategic and operational focus, contributing to the achievement of a supportive and positive safety culture.

The role will be based in our Christchurch office.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in Health & Safety, and a natural ability to bring people together. You will possess first-class stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and forward-thinking, who takes ownership and looks beyond the immediate task or site. You will bring a mindset of continuous improvement and be motivated to contribute to the wider success of the contract, not just the HSEQ function.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

• Experience in Facilities Management, commercial construction or similar industry experience
• Nebosh International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
• ICAM certification (Desirable)

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities

• The provision of safety expertise and support to operational and construction project teams
• Providing coaching and training on Workplace Health & Safety requirements
• Conducting workplace inspections with operational and construction project teams
• Assist in the development of risk assessments and management plans
• Conduct investigations where required
• Provide monthly reporting to senior management and operational leads
• Partner with contract teams to understand the broader operational environment and identify opportunities to strengthen safety, performance and outcomes across the contract and business as a whole
