About The Opportunity

Programmed Facility Management is currently seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our Golden Grove operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a remote-site kitchen on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster. This position is responsible for leading daily kitchen operations, delivering consistent high-quality meals, maintaining food safety and compliance, controlling food and labour costs, and developing a capable, accountable and safety-focused catering team.

Nature of position: Permanent full-time, FIFO – 8 days on / 6 days off

Location: Golden Grove, Western Australia

Reporting line: Village Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily kitchen operations, including production planning, menu execution and service delivery
  • Supervise, train and support chefs and kitchen personnel, maintaining clear standards, performance and accountability
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, HACCP, hygiene, allergen, workplace safety and client requirements
  • Manage ordering, stock rotation, storage, inventory, food cost, labour utilisation and waste-reduction controls
  • Maintain accurate rosters, records, reports and kitchen documentation while working closely with site management

About You

To join our team, you will have proven experience as a Head Chef or senior kitchen leader in a high-volume catering environment, ideally within mining, remote services or village operations, a passion for delivering quality food and service, and a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent Australian-recognised trade qualification
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-volume commercial or remote-site kitchen
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen management and workplace safety requirements
  • Proven capability in menu planning, ordering, stock control, cost management and waste reduction
  • Strong leadership, communication, computer literacy and administrative skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening and obtain required site clearances
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
