The Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project.
The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project’s twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.
About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a Field Permit Officer. You'll be the key to coordinating and issuing all permits to ensure they are processed and issued to ensure smooth transition from concept to construction completion.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Planning and coordinating Project Construction PTW requirements with Supervisors, Engineers & Subcontractors to enable work flow,
- Issuing and revalidating permits in the field,
- Training Permit Issuers and Permit Holders,
- Auditing all facets of PTW system in the field at regular intervals ensuring compliance,
- Development and review of electrical and mechanical isolation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s),
- Being actively involved in the development of third party interface agreements to safely execute workloads carried out by external subcontractors to the project,
- Monitoring material availability and coordinate with task scheduling.
We are looking for someone with:
- Electrical Trade or engineering qualification or experience.
- Permit to Work or compliance based role experience (2 + years) in Construction and/or heavy industry and high-risk workplaces
- Knowledge of isolation procedures and compliance codes.
- Cert IV Occupational Health and Safety preferred
- Experience in construction on major projects. Tunnelling exposure preferred
- Experience in participating in high level investigations involving multiple internal and external parties preferred.
