The Project

The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project.  The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.

With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.

The Opportunity

The M6 Stage 1 project is seeking an experienced Completions Engineer/Coordinator to join the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) team. Reporting to the Completions Manager, this role is primarily responsible for completing handover and completions tasks, to support good quality and timely outcomes for the Project.

 Key Accountabilities

  • Follow up deliverables for completion and handover including O&M manuals, redline and blueline markups, WAE drawings, spares register, asset register, supplier agreements, approvals, certifications & audits
  • Provide training on completion & handover tasks and requirements to the wider project team
  • Assist with the creation and/or update of deliverables
  • Check quality of deliverables before release
  • Review supplier’s completions documentation for compliance to requirements
  • Review progress of punch list items and defects
  • Assist with site walkdowns
  • Coordinate training for operator’s technical staff
  • Report progress against objectives.
  • Provide continuous improvement of progress monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc projects, initiatives and tasks as directed by the Completions Manager
  • Assist with issuing project documentations for recertification using Team binder and ProjectWise platforms.

About You

  • Degree or post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in associated disciplines and or relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on major infrastructure construction projects
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite of programs & experience in Team Binder/ProjectWise

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
