The Project
UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes:
• 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
• 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
• 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
• Up to six new substation sites
The Opportunity
This exciting project has now commenced construction, and we are looking for an experienced Safety Administrator to join the team. This role will be FIFO from Brisbane on a 15:6 roster.
What will a day in this role look like:
- Act as a point of contact for all administrative requirements of the HS team, including data entry for the Safety Management System.
- Assist with the coordination of hazard and incident reporting systems ensuring compliance with data filing, record-keeping, and archiving requirements.
- Support the preparation of toolbox and pre-start materials, HS presentations and training workshops.
- Upload key documentation to SharePoint file structure to support HS weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
- Participate in regular HS team meetings to discuss HS concerns and required action items.
- Coordinate safety information and support the preparation of safety performance reports.
What are we looking for you to bring to the team:
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a safety, WHS, or HSEQ administration role, ideally in mining, resourcing or construction, or related heavy industries.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health, Safety and Environment, or equivalent.
- Current National Police Check.
- Strong interpersonal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work a site-based roster e.g., 15:6 or 10:4 roster.
