Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide administrative support to the broader field-based project safety team
- Administer & maintain a comprehensive database of project related health & safety data & prepare it for reporting to deadlines
- Develop safety communications, including Daily Pre-Starts and Toolbox Talks
- Develop and disseminate minutes from meetings
- Assist in the coordination of safety related activities, including things such as inspections, actions, and equipment servicing
- Maintain an inventory and coordinate the replenishment of safety related equipment and stock (i.e. PPE consumables)
- Assist in the monitoring and improving safety performance metrics
- Monitor and proactively manage the close out of improvement actions
- Support the delivery team in monitoring training and competency compliance
- Records management to support compliance requirements, including collation of evidence for audit purposes
We are looking for someone with:
- Relevant experience in an administration role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in use of the Microsoft suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of project risk management controls and actions
- Knowledge of auditing, safety inspections and compliance reporting procedures and processes
- Strong ability to develop excellent working relationships with all staff
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or Business Administration (preferred, not essential)
