Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.
Purpose of the role:
To assist in the Procurement issue of packages for the construction, commissioning and operation for Suburban Connect.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Co-ordinate with site/contract personnel all activities related to procurement to ensure timely completion/contract award
- Assist in sourcing materials, plant to obtain best price and availability.
- Develop and issue tender documents
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define tender requirements and timelines.
- Assist with other ad-hoc admin for the team.
- Maintain a register of subcontractors
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, supplier agreements, and procurement processes.
- Prepare and monitor reports as required for the project in timely manner to meet procurement requirements.
- Create appropriate registers.
- Maintain the standard of quality and paperwork, following all policies and procedures.
- Develop system to improve process
We are looking for someone with:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Engineering or Economics preferred.
- Relevant experience in Procurement, Contract administration or associated disciplines.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, including legal and contractual requirements in the infrastructure industry.
- Effective communication with Procurement Team and key stakeholders (internal and external), particularly subcontractors.
- Advanced proficiency in relevant software packages esp. MS Office suite.
