Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Indigenous and Social Inclusion Manager for the Victoria and Tasmania business unit and working closely with projects and the Pre-Contracts Team, you will utilise your construction experience to provide strategic direction and operational support in the area of social procurement, social inclusion, diversity and inclusion, Aboriginal engagement and female participation for tenders and projects.
We’re looking for an experienced construction professional who has experience working with government policies such as:
- Building Equity Policy
- Victorian Social and Sustainable Procurement Framework
- Local Jobs First Policy
- Indigenous Procurement Policy
You will be passionate about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. You will also be someone who can manage competing priorities and think strategically about how to create unique and innovative solutions for our tenders and projects.
As our Senior Indigenous and Social Inclusion Advisor , you will:
- Design and implement all Diversity, Social Inclusion, Social Procurement, Female participation and Indigenous strategies, initiatives and programs for the whole Business Unit (Vic/Tas)
- Identify and establish key partnerships to support the plan
- Educate and support the Business Unit and projects to achieve our corporate targets across the broader Diversity, Indigenous and Social Inclusion space
- Co-facilitation of cultural awareness training to educate and support a more inclusive work culture
- Implement a calendar of diversity and inclusion events
- Provide strategic advice, guidance and work winning initiatives to bid teams regarding government policies requirements Write responses to returnable schedules as required for tenders
- Manage reporting mechanisms on projects to ensure they are able to meet their reporting requirements and KPIs
- Support projects in the Diversity, Indigenous and Social Inclusion space from mobilisation through to project close
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- 2+ years working in construction
- 2+ years experience working on a project delivering government policy requirements including Building Equality Policy, Victorian Social and Sustainable Procurement Framework, Local Jobs First Policy and Indigenous Procurement Policy
- 3+ years’ experience in Diversity and Inclusion, Social Inclusion or Indigenous Affairs
- Exceptional relationship building, influencing and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- An ability to work independently within a fast paced and changing environment
- Experience responding to work winning submissions is highly desirable
Our preferred requirements for this role are:
- Degree or post-secondary school training or TAFE certificate in Human Resources or other relevant degree
