The Project

CPB Contractors has been successful in securing the contract for the $750 million Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment.  This is the biggest transformation of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in its 140-year history so inner-Sydney communities can access an extensive range of world-class services closer to home and well into the future.

 

Operated by the Sydney Local Health District, the RPA Hospital redevelopment will deliver both new and upgraded health facilities to meet community needs and improve patient and staff amenities.

 

Your Opportunity

The Senior Project Engineer will manage and provide direction to the project team to deliver the project in accordance with the specified requirements and client expectations with a defined scope of work.

 

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Oversee designated scope-of-works and detailed understanding of their areas for the next 6 months at any given point-in-time, developing detailed construction programs and staging plans, including designs, procurement and construction logic
  • Prepare construction area plans ensuring direct reports understand and follow the construction area plan.
  • Monitor project completion ensuring adherence to program schedules, budgets, quality standards while meeting environmental and contractual obligations
  • Ensure direct reports effectively create and close quality work – lots in a timely manner (inclusive of collating quality documentation on ACONEX and upload of quality lots on TeamBinder) and OmTrak skeleton is established for scope-of-works
  • Develop SHEQ process and procedures and managing others in conducting SHEQ processes and procedures

 

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering/construction management discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Proven experience in procurement, commercial management and cost control ensuring construction activities align with schedule, budget and quality standards
  • Strong planning and reporting skills, including detailed six-month lookahead planning, weekly progress, cost reporting and long -term program tracking and effective risk management and mitigation strategies
