Graphic Design Lead

CPB Contractors has more than 50 major infrastructure projects in delivery, across all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads and bridges, rail, tunnelling, defence, airports, buildings and resources, providing you with career opportunities for years to come.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and systems-minded Graphic Design Lead to join our Work Winning team and spearhead the development and management of all graphic design outputs for tenders, EOIs, and strategic business documentation. This position focuses on business-driven design execution, emphasizing structure, clarity, and brand consistency, with expert-level use of Adobe Creative Suite. This role also involves leading a team of designers, developing template systems, and maintaining a central graphics library to support efficient and persuasive bid production.
As Graphic Design Lead, you will be accountable for:
- Leading the design of submission documents, infographics, and visual aids that communicate key business messages clearly and consistently
- Managing and developing a central graphics library and template system to ensure efficient and scalable design production across the Work Winning function.
- Collaborating with bid teams, desktop publishers, and subject matter experts to convert complex information into business-focused, easy-to-understand visuals.
- Overseeing and coaching the Graphic Design Hub team, including workload planning, design quality control, and upskilling on Adobe tools and bid design standards.
- Ensuring all designs meet brand, accessibility, and file structure compliance, supporting both internal governance and external expectations.
Requirements for this role are:
- 5+ years’ experience in a graphic design leadership role, ideally in precontracts, proposals, or business submission environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat, with a focus on structured business documentation (not marketing or conceptual creative).
- Proven ability to manage a deadline-driven design environment, balancing multiple submissions and fast-changing content needs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing small teams and coordinating with multiple business stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of corporate branding, layout systems, and document usability, with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and persuasion over aesthetic creativity.
